In the event that anyone else is interested in Health care issues. I often hear that everyone can receive medical care. today I spoke with a woman, age 63 who just received her social security disability. She had fallen, injured herself and was in need of physical therapy. She will not be eligible for medicare for 2 more years. Her income disqualifies her from Medicaid. Until her medicare begins, this ailing, diabetic person will just have to struggle on. Any care she receives will be paid from her meager disability check. Sadly, she is all too typical of the many people I meet who are unable to work or even if they work, cannot afford basic health care.

an article on health care

I ran across an article on health care that you might like in today's New York Times. I think that this shows that there are a number of good ideas that have been put forth. The Senator does not address how we insure the unemployed or what happens when a person is laid off. why should we not offer one basic policy, say like medicare. If a person wants additional coverage for other things then they should be able to purchase it.
